J. Telling, Trainer of Tinder King redeclared a new weight of 30.8kg for the greyhound in accordance with GAR 39(2). Tinder King last raced at 29.2kg.
Ladies Kay and Tinder King were slow to begin. Magic Kara and Ladies Kay collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Black Eyed Papa and Little Boots collided soon after the start checking Little Boots. Atlantic Storm crossed to the rail approaching the first turn checking Little Boots, Magic Kara, Ladies Kay and Nikita's Nitro, severely checking Black Eyed Papa. Little Boots and Magic Kara collided on the first turn checking Magic Kara, Ladies Kay and Nikita's Nitro. Tinder King raced wide approaching the home turn. Ladies Kay crossed to the outside approaching the home turn checking Black Eyed Papa, which fell as a result.
Black Eyed Papa was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained minor abrasions to the right fore leg, no stand down period was imposed.
