Flashing Billy was a late scratching at 11.36a.m. due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A ten day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer D Field was fined the sum of $100.

I'm So Dizzy and Katie Sullivan were slow to begin.  Hashtag Jordan crossed to the rail approaching the first turn, checking Kadali, Bernmar Pauline, Flying Do Do and Katie Sullivan.  Flying Do Do and Kadali collided entering the back straight.  I'm So Dizzy and Bernmar Pauline collided in the back straight.  Flying Do Do and Bernmar Pauline collided approaching the home turn.  I'm So Dizzy raced wide in the home straight.

Sinking Ship was slow to begin.  Dynamo's Dove and Dyna Nodoka collided soon after the start.  Ella Jordan and Sinking Ship collided approaching the first turn.  Sinking Ship and Little Miss Sin collided approaching the home turn, checking Ella Jordan and Slipaway Jenifer and severely checking Sinking Ship and Little Miss Sin.  Slipaway Jenifer and Little Miss Sin collided several times on the home turn.

Sinking Ship was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left loin soreness, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Slipaway Squirt was quick to begin.  Claremorris, Altona Girl and Media Tycoon were slow to begin.  Claremorris and Miss Trewvain collided soon after the start.  Lala Rise, Jemlee and Altona Girl collided approaching the first turn, checking Jemlee.  Slipaway Squirt and Altona Girl collided approaching the home turn, checking Altona Girl, Slipaway Squirt and Media Tycoon.  Claremorris contacted the running rail approaching the home turn.  Claremorris and Altona Girl collided on the home turn.  Aiden Baxter eased in the home straight.

Slipaway Squirt was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr. Warren Alley, the handler of the greyhound Aiden Baxter regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.  Aiden Baxter was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right thigh and back, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Aiden Baxter with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr. Alley pleaded guilty to the charge.  Aiden Baxter was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Hay Ty was quick to begin.  Tackifire was slow to begin.  Meadow View checked off Bernmar Princess approaching the first turn.  Victoria Jay and Whirly Drill collided on the first turn Victoria Jay, Meadow View and Bernmar Princess.  Meadow View and Bernmar Princess collided on the first turn.  Hay Ty galloped on the heels of Whirly Drill appoaching the home turn, checking Hay Ty and severely checking Whirly Drill. Whirly Drill and Bernmar Princess collided on the home turn. 

Hay Ty was vetted following the event and revetted following race 8.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right thigh and left shoulder, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Whirly Drill was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Pursuant to GAR 104(6) Lure Driver S. Bull did not act in any official capacity for this event.

Ghost Roaster and Claretown Snowy collided soon after the start, checking Claretown Snowy.  Rockem Woody and Ghost Roaster collided approaching the first turn, checking Rockem Woody.  Ghost Roaster checked off Rockem Woody entering the home straight.  Ghost Roaster and Claretown Snowy collided in the home straight.

Turanza Chloe and Dirk And Rosie were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Flossy Thelly, Miss Miyake and Black Tilly collided on the first turn, checking Bernmar Nitro and severely checking Miss Miyake.  Dirk And Rosie raced wide in the back straight.

Bandsaw and Toy Tsunami collided approaching the first turn. No Bounty, Hay Angel and Shadow Lea collided on the first turn, checking Bazinga Marjen and severely checking Hay Angel.   Shadow Lea, No Bounty and Paragon Diamond collided approaching the home turn, checking Shadow Lea and No Bounty.  Bandsaw checked off Shadow Lea on the home turn and collided with No Bounty.

Cosmic Quest, Super Leggera and Bet Bet Ryan were slow to begin.  Spyware and Pyrenees Grand collided on the first turn.  Why Not Marie checked off Bet Bet Ryan on the first turn checking Super Leggera.  Cosmic Quest and Why Not Marie collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds.  Denman Flyer and Grave Digger collided in the home straight, checking Grave Digger.

A pre-race sample was taken from Barjas.

Where's Red was quick to begin.  Valletta Knight, Which Arandt, Tye Me Up, Mouquet Farm and Banga Speed collided approaching the first turn, checking Mouquet Farm, Which Arandt and Valletta Knight and severely checking Tye Me Up.  Where's Red, Banga Speed and Perfect Causeway collided on the first turn, checking Where's Red, Banga Speed and Mouquet Farm.  Valletta Knight and Banga Speed collided approaching the home turn and again in the home straight.

Southern Blaze and Eumeralla Danny were slow to begin.  Miss Natalie and Resourceful collided soon after the start.  Miss Natalie and Remo Coffee collided soon after the start, checking both greyhounds. Remo Coffee galloped on the heels of Where's Crocky approaching the first turn. Eumeralla Danny checked off Resourceful on the home turn. Eumeralla Danny and Where's Crocky collided on the home turn, checking Eumeralla Danny.

Small Blessings and Tigress Eight were slow to begin.  Manx Pharos, Belena Bolt, Tigress Eight and Prince Shak collided soon after the start. Belena Bolt checked off Manx Pharos approaching the first turn, checking Tigress Eight and Prince Shak. Hypofonic, Dark Harmony and Manx Pharos collided on the first turn checking Dark Harmony. Tigress Eight checked off Terrifying in the home straight.

Meeting Comments:

Baroness Jill trialled over the 390m from box 5, weight 27.3kg, the greyhound was placed third in a field of four.  The time of the trial was 22.65, the greyhound was beaten by a margin of 8.5 lengths. Baroness Jill was Cleared.
