Vermont was quick to begin. Rival Impact, Spa Katness, Angel Of Music and Mendes were slow to begin. Proven Coops checked off Vermont on the first turn checking Sir Charleton, Spa Katness, Explosive Gas and Angel Of Music. and severely checking Rival Impact . Mendes raced wide in the back straight. Sir Charleton and Explosive Gas collided several times approaching the home turn checking Sir Charleton. Proven Coops raced wide on the home turn and entering the home straight.
Proven Coops was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained soreness in the left calf and left hamstring. A stand down period of 7 days was imposed.
