Steward's Report

Our Flying Nitro – Late scratching at 11:29am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to a torn right nail. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.:

Pre-race samples were taken from Pendeen Mist and Merganser.

Blackpool Monaro and Unanalysed were slow to begin.

Mincher Magic (faltered on the first turn and lost ground), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race five. Mincher Magic was found to have a right triangle injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Daisy Willow (lost ground approaching the first turn), underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.  

Stewards spoke to Representative Mr J.Formosa regarding the racing manners of Daisy Willow approaching the first turn. After hearing submissions from Mr. Formosa, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.

Pendeen Mist visibly eased entering the home straight and again approaching the winning post, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind spike wound. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Simon Smith regarding Pendeen Mist's racing manners entering the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Pendeen Mist was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Pendeen Mist must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
