A pre–race sample was taken from - Penguin Pat.
Belair Bee, Capital Gain and Moraine Nadia were quick to begin.
Jetson Express fell on the first turn, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury and an abrasion to the back, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Belair Bee - Racing manners- underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 12,and was found to have a spike wound to the right hind leg and cervico - thoracic injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr Peter Byrne regarding Belair Bee's racing manners on the first turn. After hearing submissions from Mr Byrne, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Belair Bee unsatisfactory. Belair Bee must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
