Steward's Report
A pre–race sample was unable to be obtained from Black Statesman, a post–race sample was subsequently taken.
Black Statesman was quick to begin. Saint Finnie and Coronation Day were slow to begin.
Aston Botan (turned its head outwards and marred Rebel Thinker turning into the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Ms. Aimee Drew regarding Aston Botan’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Aston Botan was charged with marring. Ms. Drew pleaded guilty to the charge and Aston Botan was suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
