Explicit and Aston Figaro were slow to begin.

Stomping was galloped on by Explicit in the back straight causing Stomping, Crackerjack Bull and Nature Strip to fall. All 3 greyhounds underwent post-race veterinary examinations:

- Stomping was found to have a left tarsal sprain and a left quadriceps injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

- Crackerjack Bull received no apparent injury.

- Nature Strip received no apparent injury.
