Steward's Report
Madalia Snoopy and Our Lulu were quick to begin.
Our Lulu eased and turned its head inwards in the home straight. Our Lulu underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind foot abrasion. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Ms. Jennifer Gieschen regarding Our Lulu’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Our Lulu was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms. Gieschen pleaded guilty to the charge. Our Lulu must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Avon Swan was checked by Our Lulu on the first turn, faltered and subsequently tailed off. Avon Swan underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
Target Range underwent a post–race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have a left fore spike wound. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Long Way Home - the winner of the event.
