Steward's Report
Out Of Stagger was quick to begin. Groovin' was slow to begin.
Paw Kronos faltered and fell turning out of the back straight, subsequently colliding with Evening Stagger and causing Evening Stagger to fall. Get On Gizmo, in turn, fell after colliding with a fallen Evening Stagger, and severely checked Groovin', ultimately resulting in Groovin' tailing off. All four greyhounds underwent post-race veterinary examinations:
- Paw Kronos was found to have a left femur fracture. Paw Kronos was humanely euthanised.
- Get On Gizmo was found to have sustained abrasions and lacerations. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
- Groovin' was found to have sustained left monkey muscle and left deltoid muscle injuries. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
- Evening Stagger was found to have no apparent injury.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track and were satisfied it was suitable for racing.
