Steward's Report
Extreme Avenger and White Owl were quick to begin. Flying Hellcat began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
Extreme Avenger (visibly eased and turned its head outwards approaching the winning post), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 6 – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Joe Borg regarding Extreme Avenger’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Extreme Avenger was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Borg reserved his plea to the charge. Extreme Avenger was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post–race samples were taken from White Owl (1st) and Deadly Avenger (2nd).
