Steward's Report
Paddy Almighty – Late scratching at 06:36am when Ms. Elaine Wood reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Whatever Tess – Late scratching at 06:21am when Mr. Adam Helleren reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Golden Eye.
Mr. Trevor Gottsche was issued with a $200 fine (wholly suspended for 12 months) pursuant to GAR 156(f)(ii) for negligence, in that the incorrect race rug was placed on Firebird Flyer.
Into Obscurity was quick to begin. Cashing Cheques went up with the lids and was slow to begin.
Cashing Cheques (contacted the rail in running and tailed off), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising to the left leg and inguinal area. A 28 day stand down period was imposed. A veterinary follow up has been ordered for Cashing Cheques and Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted.
Supplementary report 21/05/24: Stewards spoke to Mr. Craig Treherne regarding Cashing Cheques' performance and racing action approaching the 200m mark. The Stewards deemed the performance of Cashing Cheques' unsatisfactory. Cashing Cheques' must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Trainer Craig Treherne notified Stewards in accordance with GAR 122 that Cashing Cheques was found to have a torn left hip support.
