Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.5 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Ms Kathryne Tabb was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Thai Rocket, pursuant to GAR 88.
Staggering Rose and Urana Nimble were slow to begin.
Staggering Rose (marred Thai Rocket approaching the 200m mark and pulled up approaching the winning post) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr Jay Robinson regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the 200m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Staggering Rose was charged with marring. Mr Robinson pleaded guilty to the charge. Staggering Rose was suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Thai Rocket (checked and lost ground from the 250m mark, and subsequently tailed off) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right quadriceps and right pencil muscles. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Matthew Tabb regarding Thai Rocket’s performance and racing manners approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Mr. Tabb, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections. When assessing penalty, Stewards took into consideration the injury sustained and Thai Rocket being severely hampered approaching the 200m mark and again approaching the winning post.
