Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 21.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.2 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
During kennelling, Stewards conducted a carpark check on the vehicles of all trainers engaged in today’s meeting. Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.
Pursuant to GAR 75(6), Kennel Attendant Mrs J.Hooke did not act in any official capacity that may have in any way affected the outcome of this event.
Hello Cooper was slow to begin. Hello Cooper and Duchess Georgia raced wide in the home straight.
High Cotton (eased and turned its head outwards in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey and a right hamstring muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr A.Armstrong regarding High Cotton’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, High Cotton was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Armstrong reserved his plea to the charge. High Cotton was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Ginnivan (lost ground approaching the winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have minor abrasions to the front legs. No stand down period was imposed.
