General:
Stewards opened an inquiry into the conduct of Mr. Charlie Galea in the stir up yard. A charge under GAR 165(a) was issued to Mr. Galea for engaging in conduct that was detrimental and/or prejudicial to the image and/or control of greyhound racing. Mr. Galea pleaded not guilty to the charge and made further submissions. After considering all of the evidence, Stewards found Mr Galea guilty of the charge. In determining penalty, stewards considered Mr Galea's remorse, good record and that he has been registered for approximately 40 years. Mr. Galea was fined $200.00 with $100.00 suspended for 12 months.
