Tasman Hope was quick to begin.
Mr. Cameron Knott was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Fire Wire, pursuant to GAR 88.
Heavy Metal underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was was subsequently re-examined after race 8. Heavy Metal was found to have a right tarsal sprain. A 7 day stand-down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Ronald Kenworthy regarding the racing manners of Heavy Metal at the 100m mark. After hearing submissions from Mr. Kenworthy, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
