A pre-race sample was taken from Mr. Bartender.
Chasing Boodie and Acacia Rocket were slow to begin.
Acacia Rocket (marred Mr. Bartender on the home turn and in the home straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. Shaun Coulson regarding Acacia Rocket’s racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Acacia Rocket was charged with marring. Mr. Coulson pleaded guilty to the charge. Acacia Rocket was suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post–race sample was taken from Victa Tara – the winner of the event.
