Steward's Report
Kanji Quebec – Late scratching at 11.08am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr M Giddings informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr M Giddings that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
An out of competition sample was taken from Claretown Ryan on 10.01.2024 pursuant to GAR 139.
Spring Blessing – Mr S Coulson was queried as betting fluctuations were observed by Stewards. The comments of Mr S Coulson were noted and a pre-race sample was taken for analysis.
Spring Blessing and Judy's Redeemer were quick to begin.
A post-race sample was taken from Judy's Redeemer - the winner of the event.
The announcement of the All Clear was delayed for the Stewards to review the race footage after a bird was positioned on the track at the winning post and alighted as the greyhounds approached]. After viewing the footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no greyhounds were materially affected so as to affect the outcome of the event. The All Clear was posted.
