In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 28.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Mrs H Baxter was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Betsy Rose, pursuant to GAR 88. 

Yamgata Bale – New declared weight of 31.6kg, last raced at 30.3kg.

Passing was quick to begin. Mr. Boot Boot stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin.

Mr. Boot Boot stumbled at box rise, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Blackpool Slade and In The Mix were quick to begin. 

Seth Sonic checked, raced wide and lost ground first turn , underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right fibula injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Brutailty was quick to begin. 

Cooper Summer - vet request, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a cough. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Readiness, Talkin' Bluey and Block A Babe were quick to begin. Orbit Bale and Dashing Claudia were slow to begin.

Kanji Quebec – Late scratching at 11.08am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr M Giddings informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr M Giddings that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.

An out of competition sample was taken from Claretown Ryan on 10.01.2024 pursuant to GAR 139.

Spring Blessing – Mr S Coulson was queried as betting fluctuations were observed by Stewards. The comments of Mr S Coulson were noted and a pre-race sample was taken for analysis.

Spring Blessing and Judy's Redeemer were quick to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Judy's Redeemer - the winner of the event.

The announcement of the All Clear was delayed for the Stewards to review the race footage after a bird was positioned on the track at the winning post and alighted as the greyhounds approached]. After viewing the footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no greyhounds were materially affected so as to affect the outcome of the event. The All Clear was posted.

A pre–race sample was taken from Overdrawn.

Zodiac Bale, Little Prince and Aeroplane Mode were quick to begin. Lala Rapid was slow to begin.

Overdrawn - faltered home turn and pulled up home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track approaching the home turn and into the home straight and deemed it satisfactory for racing.

Spring Bart was slow to begin.

Reema Bale – Late scratching at 2.21pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to left fore toe injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre–race sample was taken from - Irving Bale.

Rocket Bale, Xylus Bale and Fitrzroy Bale were quick to begin. 

Xylus Bale - checked approaching home and lost ground in home straight , underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left gracillis muscle injury and abrasions to the right fore foot and left hind foot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Weblec Whisper was quick to begin. Santorini Bale was slow to begin.

Elara Bale was slow to begin.

Magnis Bale and Blackpool Diva were quick to begin. Magnis Bale raced wide in the home straight.

Blazing Arnie – Late scratching at 11.09am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr M Giddings informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on–route to the track. Waterloo and Extemeley were quick to begin. Roxy Crumpet went up with the lids at box rise was slow to begin. Sutton's Sky and Delightful were slow to begin and both raced wide in the home straight.
