Steward's Report
Hot Hand – Late scratching at 6.11pm with permission of Stewards, as granted in a confirmed telephone call with Trainer Mr. Reginald Marriner. Due to the circumstances surrounding the late scratching, namely significant traffic delays en route, no stand down period was imposed.
Spring Watch was quick to begin. Hadouken was slow to begin.
Gunai Jedi (checked turning out of the back straight and lost ground) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left tensor fascia latae muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Spring Watch (lost ground in the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported.
Hadouken (turned its head outwards in the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported. Stewards spoke to Representative Mr. Dylan Sharp regarding Hadouken's racing manners. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Hadouken was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Sharp pleaded not guilty to the charge. Hadouken was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
