Steward's Report

Axedale Pirate – Late scratching at 6.11pm with permission of Stewards, as granted in a confirmed telephone call with Trainer Mr. Reginald Marriner. Due to the circumstances surrounding the late scratching, namely significant traffic delays en route, no stand down period was imposed.

A pre-race sample was taken from Aston Cooper.
Explosive Debt was quick to begin. Tinker Jack was slow to begin.
Tinker Jack (faltered on the home turn and tailed off) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock fracture. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Spring Blessing raced wide entering the home straight and collided with Tinker Jack following Tinker Jack faltering. Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms. Lisa Delbridge concerning Spring Blessing's racing manners. Stewards heard submissions from Ms. Delbridge, viewed available footage, and acted on their own observations. Stewards formed the opinion that, whilst Spring Blessing had forcefully collided with Tinker Jack, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that Spring Blessing's racing manners constituted a breach of the rules. Stewards took no further action.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track on the home turn and deemed it satisfactory for racing.
