Steward's Report
Mr Mark Giddings was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Cheech pursuant to GAR 88.
Vienna Gold and Princess Barona were quick to begin.
Cheech was severely checked on the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right pencil injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Spirit of Duke turned it's head outwards soon after the start, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hind toe injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Peter Barry regarding Spirit Of Duke’s racing manners soon after the start. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Spirit Of Duke was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Barry pled guilty to the charge, Spirit Of Duke was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
