Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Jeremy Spoke.
Louie, Crackerjack Boom and Irish Millie were quick to begin. Jeremy Spoke, Ethanol Unleaded and Internal Affairs were slow to begin.
Ethanol Unleaded underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right sartorius muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Patrick Furci regarding the greyhound pulling up prior to the return gate, failing to enter the catching pen and ultimately entering the infield. Stewards noted that Ethanol Unleaded had escaped the catching pen at Sandown Park on 04/02/2024 and was issued with a warning on that occasion. Acting in accordance with GAR 129, and being mindful of the safety of Ethanol Unleaded, other greyhounds in the race, staff, and participants, Stewards were not satisfied with the performance. Ethanol Unleaded was placed on a Satisfactory Trial under GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, with the condition that the greyhound must run past the return gate and remain in the catching pen in order to clear the Satisfactory Trial, before any further nominations are accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Crackerjack Boom - the winner of the event.
