Steward's Report
Sure Slinky – Late scratching at 7:07pm under GAR 42 (4) on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian after being found to have a vision issue. A 7 day stand down penalty was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 42(4), Stewards must receive a veterinary certificate of clearance that indicates the greyhound’s vision is adequate to allow the greyhound to see the lure. Upon receipt of this clearance, Sure Slinky must then perform a Satisfactory Trial, pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Mr. M. Giddings was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Life's A Party, pursuant to GAR 88.
Life's A Party and Little Splinter were quick to begin. Outlawed was slow to begin.
Ultimate Eclipse (collided with Life's A Party turning off the back straight and lost ground) underwent a post-race veterinary examination, was re-examined following race six, and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative Mr. B. Smith regarding the racing manners of Ultimate Eclipse turning off the back straight. After hearing submissions from Mr. Smith, viewing the available race footage, and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
A post-race sample was taken from Outlawed - placed 2nd in the event.
