Steward's Report

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed ‘Heat Affected’. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.8 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.5 degrees. Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue, as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.

Western Bale was quick to begin. Peaches was slow to begin.

The announcement of the All Clear was delayed for the Stewards to review the race footage after two plovers were positioned on the track on the home turn and alighted as the greyhounds approached - one bird contacted the lure arm. After viewing the footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no greyhounds were materially affected so as to affect the outcome of the event. The All Clear was posted.
