Steward's Report
Distracting – New declared weight of 25.2kg, last raced at 26.9kg.
Jeff Geall was issued with a warning under GAR156(f) for negligence, after the greyhound Laser Beam was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and remediation.
A pre–race sample was taken from Laser Beam.
Hold On Love was slow to begin.
A post–race sample was taken from Distracting – the winner of the event.
Break In lost ground soon after the start, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Dallan Klemke regarding Beak In's overall performance in the event. In accordance with GAR 122, the Stewards requested Mr. Klemke to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Break In in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
Aston Gaga was severely checked turning into the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
