Steward's Report
It's A Special was quick to begin.
Laser Beam underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Mr. Geall declined a re-examination. Stewards spoke to Mr. Jeff Geall regarding the racing manners of Laser Beam in the front straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Laser Beam was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Geall pleaded guilty to the charge and Laser Beam was suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127 (1st offence), and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
