Steward's Report
Venom Express and Cyclone Summer were slow to begin.
The announcement of the All Clear was delayed for the Stewards to review the race footage at the boxes after the starter inadvertently switched the amber light off before turning the light to green shortly after. After viewing the footage and acting on their own observations, the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that no greyhounds were materially affected so as to affect the outcome of the event. The All Clear was posted.
The finish time for this event was hand timed. There was no split time available due to a timing system error.
The starter was reminded of their responsibilities due to a delay between amber and green light being switched on. This matter was referred to the Club Manager for further consideration and remediation.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Geoff Smith regarding the racing manners of Maddie's Domain approaching the 50m mark. After hearing submissions from Mr. Smith, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.
Stewards spoke, via telephone, to Mr. Smith, the trainer of Maddie's Domain after they left the course today without the permission of Stewards and without having the greyhound examined by the On-Track Veterinarian following the event. Mr. Smith was issued with a fine of $200 pursuant to GAR 94(2), and directed to produce Maddie's Domain at The Meadows Greyhound Racing Club for a veterinary examination.
A post-race sample was taken from Cyclone Summer - the winner of the event.

Supplementary Report:
Following the close of kennels at The Meadows race meeting on Saturday, 09 September 2023, trainer Mr. Geoff Smith presented Maddie's Domain for a veterinary examination. Maddies Domain was found to have no apparent injury.
