Country Crusader (contacted the rail turning out of the back straight) underwent a post–race veterinary examination - no injury reported.
Vanessa Bale (turned head outwards approaching winning post) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left fore foot. No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Mr. J. Bryce regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Vanessa Bale was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Bryce pleaded guilty to the charge. Vanessa Bale was stood down from racing at Geelong only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
