Steward's Report
Mr D. Burnett was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Silver Mack, pursuant to GAR 88.
Bun Volcano was quick to begin. Bun Exhale was slow to begin.
Tessa Denmark - Faltered in the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Bun Volcano - underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr T Dailly regarding Bun Volcano escaping the catching pen. The Stewards noted that Bun Volcano had demonstrated this same practise at Ballarat on the 20/12/2023 and was issued with a warning on that occasion. Acting in accordance with GAR 129 and being mindful of the safety of Bun Volcano, other greyhounds in the race and staff that triage these types of incidents, the Stewards were not satisfied with the performance and placed Bun Volcano on a satisfactory trial under GAR 129, and in accordance with GAR 132, with the condition that Bun Volcano needs to remain in the catching pen in order to pass the trial.
