Darnum Desire and Cookie Boy were slow to begin.
Just Want Pizza was severely checked approaching the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right wrist injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Another Accused was severely checked approaching the first turn and baulked entering the home straight, underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr Jason Martin regarding the racing manners of Another Accused entering the home straight. After hearing submissions from Mr Martin, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Darnum Desire was severely checked approaching the first turn and lost ground, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to both back muscles. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
There was no head on vision in the home straight for this event.
