Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Next Teardrop.
This event was delayed by approximately 4 minutes due to a minor issue with the linkages while moving the boxes onto the track.
Sumerian was slow to begin.
Spartans Fury underwent a post-race veterinary examination following an incident in the catching pen - no apparent injury was reported.
Due to a technical malfunction there was no second split time available for this event.
Meeting Comments -
Head Bin – In accordance with GAR 41(5), presented for a re–vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Traralgon (Satisfactory Trial) on 23 October 2023. Head Bin was examined by the On–Track Veterinarian and found to be free from injury. Head Bin was cleared to race. A sample was taken for analysis, in accordance with GAR 136.
Satisfactory Trial -
Drive Through - Blinkers On - Field of 4, Distance: 350m, Weight: 35.4kg, Box 4, Placed 1st, Time Run 20.39 – Comment: Cleared all tracks - cleared to race in blinkers.
Head Bin – Unsatisfactory Performance - Field of 4, Distance: 350m, Weight: 32.8kg, Box 8, Placed 4th, Time Run 21.35 – Comment: Not Cleared - faltered turning off back straight and lost ground. Head Bin underwent a post-trial veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right pencil muscle and right triangle muscle. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
