Steward's Report
Indestruct was quick to begin. Lady Montana was slow to begin.
Our Boy roo was severely checked on the first turn and underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist injury and right triangle injury. A7 day stand down period was imposed.
Piper's Brook turned it's head outwards approaching the first turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock abrasion. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Leslie Hughes regarding Piper's Brook’s racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Piper's Brook was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Hughes pled guilty to the charge, Piper's Brook was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Traralgon and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Lady Montana - the winner of the event.
