Theodossi Bale and Man Of Courage were quick to begin. Celeste Bale and Lucky Jean were slow to begin.

Daija Bale (lost ground over the concluding stages), underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

An out of competition sample was taken from Bernardo Beast on 15/08/2023, pursuant to GAR 139.

Bernardo Beast was quick to begin. 

Weblec Aviator (faltered on the first turn and subsequently tailed off), underwent a post-race veterinary examination.  It was reported the greyhound was found to have a right long head triceps muscle injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.   

Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. Daniel Gibbons regarding the racing manners of Bernardo Beast soon after the start. After hearing submissions from Mr. Gibbons, viewing the available race footage, and having their own observations, Stewards took no action.

A post–race sample was taken from Bernardo Beast  – the winner of the event.

Stewards issued a warning pursuant to GAR 81(1) to Representaive - Mr. Michael Cullen, after Circle Moon escaped from the kennel block during the kennelling process and entered the track before being restrained. The greyhound underwent a full examination by the On-Track Veterinarian and was passed fit to race.

Man Of Fire and Circle The Moon were quick to begin. 

Man Of Fire (checked several times and subsequently fell on the first turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination.  It was reported the greyhound was found to be injured in the right carpal and right flexor tendon.. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

An out of competition sample was taken from Break The Clouds on 24/08/2023, pursuant to GAR 139

Aston Cassidy – Late scratching at 1.36pm when Mr. Samuel Webb reported the greyhound to have wrist injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w) before any future nominations will be accepted. 

Notorious Belle and Phelan Seedy were quick to begin. 

A pre–race sample was taken from Colden Mandella.

Purified was quick to begin. Dash Express was slow to begin.

A post-race sample was taken from Fitzroy Bale - the winner of the event. 

Canya Hustle – Late scratching at 10.52am when Mr. Matthew Lanigan reported the greyhound to have tendon injury (GAR 76). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate, pursuant to GAR 19(3)(w), before any future nominations will be accepted. 

Got Rhythm was quick to begin. New Wave Whine was slow to begin. 

Got Rhythm raced wide entering the home straight. 

Hummock collided with Ike Bale soon after the start and lost ground in the back straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a right carpal sprain. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Frosty Jack – New declared weight of 35.4kg, last raced at 34.3kg.

Self Control – New declared weight of 29kg, last raced at 30.1kg.

Struck Gold was slow to begin.

A sample was taken from Tinker Pete upon arrival at the course.

Krakatoan and Rich Flex were slow to begin. Winnindoo Wendy was very slow to begin.

Astra Bale – New declared weight of 28.6kg, last raced at 27.2kg.

Mr.Jayden Cassar was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for Snap Second, pursuant to GAR 88.

Viking Rebel was slow to begin. 

Snap Second and Astra Bale raced wide entering the home straight. 

Seebohm Bale – New declared weight of 34.1kg, last raced at 35.5kg.

Rocky Horror and Stress Test were quick to begin. Seebohm Bale and Limburg Argon were slow to begin.

Seebohm Bale (tailed the field throughout and lost ground over the concluding stages) underwent a post-race veterinary examination. It was reported that the greyhound was found to be injured in the right wrist and a right tendon injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
