Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Gunai Prince.
Aston Khan and Gunai Prince were quick to begin. Tiggerlong Gas and Nicolson Bale were slow to begin.
Supplementary Advice [29 August 2023] - Stewards spoke to Kennel Representative Mr Daniel Gibbons regarding Nicolson Bale's post finishing line condition and behaviour in the area of the return gate. After hearing submissions from Mr Gibbons, viewing the available race footage, having the On-Track Veterinarians post-race observational advice, and acting on their own observations, Stewards were satisfied that Nicolson Bale severely cramped and did not run into the catching pen area. The Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory. Nicolson Bale must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. A veterinary certificate of fitness under GAR 129 (b) (to the satisfaction of the Stewards) is also required.
