Alfie Abalone underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg toe abrasion. No stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to representative Darren Fisher regarding Alfie Abalone’s racing manners at the start.  After hearing submissions from Darren Fisher, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Alfie Abalone unsatisfactory.  Alfie Abalone must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Newport Flyer was quick to begin.  Vanessa Bale was slow to begin.

Newport Flyer underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg monkey muscle and left hindleg pencil/whip injuries.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Gregory McRae regarding the racing manners of Newport Flyer in the back straight.  After hearing submissions from Gregory McRae, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections.

Donnington Girl marred Inner Rush entering the home straight.

Donnington Girl underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg pencil/whip injury.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Cameron Morris-Flynn regarding Donnington Girl's racing manners entering the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Donnington Girl was charged with marring.  Cameron Morris-Flynn pleaded guilty to the charge.  Donnington Girl was suspended for 28 days at Warrnambool and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post–race sample was taken from Misty Black – the winner of the event.

Guster Bale underwent a post–race veterinary examination due to an incident in the catching pen and was found to have an abrasion to the right hock .  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Spartan Legend – Ordered to wear an anti–aggression muzzle in all future events in accordance with GAR 131.

Hidden Stones was slow to begin.

A post–race sample was taken from Ice Bath Forth – the winner of the event. 

Maximum Ava and Targan Bale were quick to begin.  Aston Marvel and Tapering Off were slow to begin.

Nabila Bale and Lightning Pest were slow to begin.

Lightning Pest eased approaching the home turn, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right foreleg monkey muscle and right hindleg quadriceps injuries.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to Garry Elliott regarding Lightning Pest’s racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 124, Lightning Pest was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Garry Elliott pleaded guilty to the charge.  Lightning Pest was suspended for 28 days at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Quilla Reef contacted  the running rail approaching the winning post underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg elbow injury.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

There were no reportable incidents in the event.

Haaland – Late scratching at 4:41 pm on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to an abraded right fore paw pad.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A pre–race sample was taken from He's Classified.

He's Classified was slow to begin.

Stewards Advice:  Stewards opened an inquiry into an incident that occured in the trainer's car park during the race meeting. The matter was adjourned.
