Laia Bale and I'm A Gizmo were slow to begin.
A post–race sample was taken from Gunai Princess – the winner of the event.
I'm A Gizmo underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right wrist and left hock injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr K. Howat regarding I'm A Gizmo’s racing manners approching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, I'm A Gizmo was charged with marring. Mr Howat pleaded guilty to the charge. I'm A Gizmo was suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
