Steward's Report

Rixi Bale and Battle Royal were quick to begin. Joilet Bale was slow to begin.

Zipping Beretta - incident catching pen and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.

Big Brew – Ordered to wear an anti–aggression muzzle in all future events in accordance with GAR 131.

A post–race sample was taken from Rixi Bale – the winner of the event.

Updated (16.8.2023) - Stewards spoke to Mr R Coleman regarding his conduct in the catching pen and were of the view that Mr Coleman's actions were to protect and shield Zipping Beretta from another greyhound's behaviour towards his greyhound. However, a warning was issued to Mr Coleman for inappropriate language pursuant to GAR 165(a).

Supplementary Report:

Manipulation– In accordance with GAR 41(5), presented for a re–vet at the conclusion of kennelling as the greyhound was found to be injured at Sandown on 25th June 2023. Manipulation was examined by the On–Track Veterinarian and found to be  not free from injury. Manipulation was not cleared to race.

A sample was taken from Manipulation in accordance with GAR 136, having been presented for the purpose of revoking a stand down period (re–vet).
