Solitary Flicker and Global Charm were slow to begin.

Global Charm (fell on the first turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right groin muscle injury and a right back muscle injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Cyclone Will raced ungenerously on the first turn and underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr C. Dalton regarding the greyhound's racing manners. After hearing evidence from Mr. Dalton, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their own observations, Stewards took no further action. In arriving at this decision, Stewards took into heavy consideration the interference occurring to Cyclone Will's outside and the possible affect this incident would have had on the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn. Stewards were of the belief that the option to charge Cyclone Will for failing to pursue the lure with due commitment was open to them, but declined to do so in the belief that this would have been contrary to the intentions and the spirit of the rules.
