Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from Zip Up Kevin on 7/2/2023 pursuant to GAR 139.
Nourish wss quick to begin. Molly's Fantasy was very slow to begin (4L).
Molly's Fantasy checked off Nourish severely checking Nourish causing both Nourish and Molly's Fantasy to fall. Nourish underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a shoulder injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Molly's Fantasy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a biceps injury. A 5 day stand down was imposed.
Zip Up Kevin (severely checked approaching the home turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination. No apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr. Josh Duncan regarding the racing manners of Zip Up Kevin on the first turn. After hearing submissions from Mr. Duncan, viewing the available race footage and having their own observations, Stewards took no further action.
Cash Senor (eased approaching the home turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a carpal sprain. A 5 day stand down was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. Jason Stemmer regarding Cash Senor’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 125, Cash Senor was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Stemmer pled guilty to the charge, Cash Senor was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 125, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
