Steward's Report
Shaka Big Tonks – Late scratching at 10.18am due to non–arrival (GAR 86 and LR 39). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr Michael Bewley informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown en–route to the track. Stewards advised Mr. Bewley that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 72 hours of the occurrence that caused the non–arrival. The matter will be re–evaluated upon receipt of this evidence.
You Yang Yaala and Banjo Jack was slow to begin.
A post–race sample was taken from Fibularis – the winner of the event.
Rose Quartz ran past the finish line and failed to run into the catching pen, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind pad. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Joshua Formosa regarding Rose Quartz's performance after the finish line. After hearing submissions from Mr. Joshua Formosa and acting on their observations, Stewards deemed the performance of Rose Quartz unsatisfactory. Rose Quartz must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
