Following heavy rainfall prior to the event Stewards inspected the track and deemed the surface suitable for racing.
Carry On Jack and Inga Izzy were quick to begin. Blackpool Poppy was slow to begin.
Inga Izzy (fell on the first turn) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right sesamoid and an abrasion to left hind and right fore leg. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Following further consultation with the Bureau of Meteorology and the track curator the meeting was abandoned at 2.57pm. All bets on greyhounds in the abandoned races to be refunded in full. The weights recorded for the greyhounds in the abandoned races do not count for the purposes of the weight rule at the greyhounds’ next start. Prizemoney to be split evenly between the competing greyhounds.
