Alexander Pop and Sandy Point collided on the first turn. Kaiser's Reign and Toy Princess collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. King Knocka and Silver's Sister collided approaching the home turn checking Silver's Sister. Battle Flame and King Knocka collided approaching the home turn severely checking King Knocka. Kaiser's Reign marred the running of King Knocka on the home turn severely checking both greyhounds. Silver's Sister and Alexander Pop raced wide in the home straight.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. J. Worsfold, the trainer of the greyhound Kaiser's Reign. Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Kaiser's Reign with marring and suspended the greyhound for 28 days at Geelong and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
