Starvin' Seagull and He's Buzzin' were slow to begin. Funky Chicken and Veetee Saharrah collided soon after the start, checking Funky Chicken. Money Come Back and Starvin' Seagull collided approaching the first turn. Wait Til Dark galloped on the heels of Veetee Saharrah on the first turn, checking Money Come Back. He's Buzzin' and Veetee Saharrah collided on the first turn, checking Wait Til Dark, Starvin' Seagull and Whatta Brew, and severely checking Veetee Saharrah.
