Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 22.2 degrees and the kennel temperature were 17.1 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.
Leena Bale and First Class Izzy were slow to begin. Sunset Tara was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Little Maldini (faltered and tailed off approaching the first turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was re–examined following race 5. Little Maldini was found to have a left back muscle and lumbo-sacral injury. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
She's All Cheek (severely checked on the home turn) underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Kennel Representative Mr Peter Presutto of Raw Sight declined the option to have the greyhound vetted.
Stewards spoke to Representative Mr Peter Presutto regarding Raw Sight’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 124 Raw Sight was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Presutto pleaded guilty to the charge, Raw Sight was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial/s in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
