Steward's Report
Thing One was quick to begin.
Special Zamba marred Grumpy Grange in the home straight, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right pencil muscle injury and abrasions on the left foreleg and right hindleg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. Mark McClelland regarding Special Zamba's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123, Special Zamba was charged with marring. Mr. McClelland pled guilty to the charge. Special Zamba is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
