Cruising Loren, Philip Marlowe, Another Six and Jellybean Jam were slow to begin.
Philip Marlowe (severely checked on the first turn and pulled up), underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a suspected left femur fracture, a left stifle injury and a left back muscle injury. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
