On The Mint was slow to begin.
My Blaze underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left monkey muscle injury and a left tarsal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to kennel representative Mr. Danny Cortese regarding My Blaze's racing manners approaching the winning post. After hearing submissions from Mr. Cortese, viewing the available race footage, considering the injury reported, and having their own observations, the Stewards issued a warning to connections regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
Koutaki underwent a post-race veterinary examination after escaping the catching pen - no apparent injury was reported.
