Steward's Report
Madam Magnus escaped from the kennel block during the kennelling process an ran some 150m on the course proper before being restrained. The greyhound was vetted subsequently withdrawn at 8:22 am on the advice of the On–Track Veterinarian (GAR 92) due to cervico-thoracic injury. A three day stand down period was imposed. After hearing submissions from Ms Creed, a warning was issued in accordance with GAR 156(f). In assessing the matter, Stewards took into due consideration that all enclosures leading to the track were open.
Sanp Second was quick to begin. Ten Pineapples and Canya Liston were slow to begin.
Yeah Sweetie severely checked on the first turn and tailed off, underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg calf muscle injury. A five day stand down period was imposed.
