Steward's Report
An out of competition sample was taken from I'm Back on 11/11/22 pursuant to GAR 139.
Lakeview Bonnie was quick to begin. Dynamic Prince, I'm Back, Jungle Panther and Vermont Bale were slow to begin.
Dookie Devil (marred Jungle Panther in the home straight) underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right chest and shoulder muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr G. Dainton regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 123 Dookie Devil was charged with marring. Mr. Dainton pled not guilty to the charge, Dookie Devil was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Sandown only and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 127, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted. Update 15.11.2022: An appeal was lodged by trainer G. Dainton to the Victorian Racing Tribunal on the decision to suspend Dookie Devil under GAR123 for marring. The appeal was upheld and the charge of marring set aside.
