Steward's Report
Mr. Trevor Whitford was fined $50 for failing to ensure the registration card was produced for the greyhound, Echo Chamber pursuant to GAR 88.
Echo Chamber shifted outwards in the home straight and underwent a post–race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Dixie Vegas raced ungenerously in the home straight and underwent a post–race veterinary examination – no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Trevor Whitford regarding the racing manners of Echo Chamber. After hearing evidence from Mr. Whitford, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Michael Gibbons, the trainer of Dixie Vegas regarding its performance in the home striaght. After hearing submissions from Mr. Gibbons, viewing the available race footage and acting on their observations, the Stewards deemed the performance of Dixie Vegas unsatisfactory. Dixie Vegas must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 129, and pursuant to GAR 132, before any future nomination will be accepted.
